UPDATE: Despite using the correct channels of reporting, information provided by Western NSW Local Health District to the Coonabarabran Times today was incorrect.

Earlier today, a spokesperson from Western NSW Local Health District reported that a person who tested positive for COVID-19 in Far West Local Health District recently travelled to Coonabarabran via bus, however, this person has been re-identified as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case.

Details on when the person travelled from Broken Hill could not be confirmed.

The Public Health Unit was notified on Thursday, 23 September, and the person has since been relocated to special health accommodation outside of Coonabarabran for self-isolation.

Investigations are continuing.
