It’s official: Lucy Evans named principal
At Coonabarabran Public School’s Awards Night on Monday, 11 December, Lucy Evans, who has acted as relieving principal for the last two years, announced she was now the official principal of the school.
As a former Coonabarabran Public School student, Mrs Evans said she had several role models that put her on the path to becoming a teacher including her year three teacher, Mrs Margaret Mack.
After working as a teacher at the school for a number of years, Mrs Evans said she was encouraged to become a leader by Mrs Leanne Pincham.
Although she still turns to former principal, Noel Willoughby, for leadership advice, it is Mrs Evans’ hard work and passion that has cemented her place as principal of the school.
“I have worked for this my entire career, and I cannot wait for this next chapter,” she said.
Mrs Evans said the best part of the job was when students showed her work they were proud of.
“I love acknowledging their efforts and seeing their smile.”
Mrs Evans said she was looking forward to many more years as principal of Coonabarabran Public School, and her commitment and dedication to the school was clear in her final words, “Coonabarabran Public School is the best school ever!”
