Let’s “Light the Night”
If Baradine’s impressive Light the Night event was anything to go by, the Coonabarabran version will be spectacular, with a big evening of entertainment!
Some of the town’s landmarks will be lit up in a colourful display of light tonight, Thursday, 28 April, with the event kicking off at 5pm.
There will be late-night shopping opportunities with a vast array of pop-up markets, while and many businesses in the vicinity will extend their trading hours.
Vivian Evans, from 2357 Development Inc, said it will be the perfect opportunity for residents to enjoy a night out and pick up a Mother’s Day gift at the same time.
“With all the different stalls and being just before Mother’s Day, it is perfect timing to get something special for mum,” Mrs Evans said.
Along with late-night shopping, a host of activities and entertainment will be on offer throughout the evening.
A big drawcard will be the family- orientated scavenger hunt that will include the many participating shop fronts.
Other entertainment on the night will include John Hoisier performing in the plaza, while the Samaritans will be making bead bands with stars for young festival goers.
There will be Indigenous craft, artwork and jewellery, fancy dress and to soothe hungry bellies, the Coonabarabran Bakery will be open later into the evening, cooking and selling pizzas.
Stall holders and businesses from across the region will showcase their wares and produce, including Blue Sky Cheese from Mendooran.
“It will be a really great night with lots of colour, activities, fun, shopping and food,” Mrs Evans said.
“And don’t forget to dress up in fancy dress. Star Wars themed, stars, moons planets, lots of colours - or all black to signify the night sky.
“We look forward to seeing everyone helping us to light up the night!”
