Have you heard? The Coonabarabran Times have a new recruit! Georgia Spence is our new journalist on the scene and she's got lots of ideas and stories to share. We thought you might like to meet her...
Hey Georgia, welcome to our rag-tag team! How's your first week going?
Great! I am thoroughly enjoying being a part of an awesome team, doing what I love doing.
If you could interview anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Kim Deal from a band called The Breeders. Her musical talent is unbeatable in my eyes and her life experience is something I would love to gain insight on. I would also like to interview any architects to try to understand their creative process.
What's your favourite word?
Fuzziness.
What's your go-to desk snack?
Not sure! I do love fruit and chocolate!
Do you prefer to read the print or digital edition of the Coona Times?
Whichever I can get my hands on.
What kinds of stories are you looking forward to writing for the paper?
I love anything creative and interviewing artists!
What's your perfect Sunday?
To sit by a waterfall and eat nice food in the sunshine.
What's a fact about you that might surprise people?
My partner and I are currently building our own house and have been living in a bell tent for the past two years.
What's your favourite book?
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak will forever be a favourite, along with anything written by Tim Winton.
What do you love most about Coonabarabran and surrounds?
The community here is great. People go out of their way to help each other regardless of their situation. I also love the changing of each season, it always brings on a lot of excitement for me as I watch my environment morph.
