Take the dog for a walk
Vibrant street art chalks up support for R U OK? Day in Coonabarabran.
Sparking conversation around town is proving to be a piece of art, bringing awareness to R U OK? Day and World Suicide Prevention Day.
Yarn Support Connect commissioned Zac Craig from @fiestaconcarne to create an impressive 3D artwork of a dog, drawn from chalk.
The aim of the illustration is to bring smiles to faces, create a space for conversation and remind everyone they have a best mate.
The interactive artwork, which is located at the entrance to SPACE Gallery in Dalgarno Street, encourages people to stop and pose for a photo with the drooling pup.
To nail the shot, people are required to stand within the footprints to simulate “walking the dog”, with a second set of footprints for the photographer.
To help spread the word, Yarn Support Connect is asking people to upload their photos to social media, tagging the local organisation as well as #ruok and #worldsuicidepreventionday.
A competition is also being held to name the dog, with the winner receiving a gift voucher to a local business.
