Thanks for caring: Cooinda celebrates employees
On Monday, 7 August, staff at Coonabarabran’s Cooinda celebrated ‘Aged Care Employee Day’.
Aged Care Employee Day is a day to celebrate the more than 370,000 residential care, home care, and retirement living staff who care for over 1.5 million older Australians.
To celebrate the occasion, staff at Cooinda came together for a luncheon provided from their newly renovated and extended kitchen.
The luncheon and other special goodies were a way to recognise the dedication shown by the employees at Cooinda.
Cooinda CEO, Leanne Redfern said she was thankful every day for the wonderful staff at Cooinda and each year on this day everyone takes some special time out to enjoy and celebrate with each other.
“Here at Cooinda, we have just over 110 dedicated staff working in various roles including registered nurses, enrolled nurses, personal-care workers, maintenance, cooks, kitchen hands, cleaners, laundry workers, lifestyle/recreational team, administration, home-care workers and our community care and program coordinators,” Mrs Redfern said.
“They are all as important as each other and I am sure that they would all join me in saying that we are proud to work for Cooinda and feel privileged to be able to serve our older generation.”
Chairman of the Cooinda board, Maria Deep also visited for lunch with Cooinda staff to celebrate the dedication of all the employees who help care for and support residents and community clients.
