New infrastructure projects reinvigorating community
A number of new and exciting rejuvenation and construction projects are being rolled out in Coonabarabran, with more in the pipeline.
Two of the latest include the Dalgarno Street footpath extension and the Pump Park (pictured above), adjacent to the existing skatepark in Coonabarabran.
The Dalgarno Street footpaths were widened to help prevent reversing cars from impacting with the beams of established businesses, while the yet to be unveiled Pump Park will provide youngsters with a bit of diversity at the skate park.
Warrumbungle Shire mayor, Cr Ambrose Doolan said there had been a lot of activity around the town, with more still to come.
“Everything we are doing, we are doing with the idea of a looming bypass.
“We want to make Coonabarabran a place people want to drive to, not through.”
Cr Doolan said the Stop and Play Park, designated for installation at Neilson Park, wasn’t far off coming to fruition, while two new change rooms have been put on top of the priority list for number three oval.
“As has been said before, I’m a big fan of the river and we’re currently looking at funding options to get the northern bank cleaned up,” he said.
“Having a nice section of the river would entice people stop for lunch, have a look around town and could potentially keep them in town longer.”
