On Thursday, May 7, the Coonabarabran Community Garden achieved a major milestone as the committee in charge of the project signed a formal lease with Warrumbungle Shire Council for their preferred site at 24-26 Robertson Street. The committee, led by Brett England (5th from left, in hat), along with many other community volunteers (many pictured above at the signing), celebrated this achievement while looking ahead to the next steps to bring their project to life.
The Community Garden is being designed as a dedicated space for the community to connect, grow produce and share gardening knowledge. It also addresses issues of community resilience, food security and social isolation.
